Snot Latest in the Disney Banning
The reunited lineup of the legendary Santa Barbara metal/punk rock hybrid SNOT has issued the following update:
"Unfortunately, SNOT has been ejected from the December 20, 2008 show at the House Of Blues [in] Orlando, Florida. It was to be the last show on the Mudvayne, 10 Years, Snot tour... Why were we dropped from the bill? Because, according to Disney, 'everything about SNOT is offensive, including the name.' We did our best to comply with their requirements, including removing images from our MySpace profile, agreeing to not play certain songs, and providing 'them' a setlist for approval... Well... It wasn't good enough... We were rejected... Taken off the bill... So, what WE did was get on the phone and book our OWN show down the street at another place in Orlando called The Haven. To any and all SNOT fans that wanna come see us at the Haven, we will post all the info soon."
Walt Disney Corporation last year cancelled The Black Tyranny Tour's (featuring Machine Head, among other bands) opening night in Anaheim, California with just two days notice.
The event was scheduled to take place at the House Of Blues venue on Disneyland property, but Disney representatives suddenly cancelled the concert after reviewing Machine Head's music and deeming them unsuitable to perform there, according to ChartAttack.com. Disney also cancelled the band's Orlando, Florida stop at the House Of Blues in Walt Disney World. The weird thing is that Machine Head have played the House Of Blues clubs in Anaheim and Orlando in the past without incident.
Why have a House of Blues on site if you are not going to let bands play there? I don't blame Disney for this, but House of Blues themselves. Why strike a deal with Disney to build a House of Blues on Disney property when you know they are going to veto your acts?
The concept of "Setlist approval" is the absolute antithesis of Rock N' Roll. Are the precious, innocent, little snowflakes going to come in contact with the bands at the House of Blues? I will guess not. The little snot machines have heard of the word snot and heard far worse things from their parent's bedroom.
But I am calling conspiracy on this. Disney doesn't want great bands like Machine Head on the property because the turd burglars will learn about great music and stop wanting/asking for Miley Cirus. They will stop consuming processed bubble gum pop and start thinking there is better music out there.
That is it. I am going up to the next poop machine I say and let them listen to Halo off the newest Machine Head album The Blackening. Listen to this music you 4 year old terror while assembling your Legos and playing with your action figures.
Fuck You House of Blues and Disney!
