I heard "Chinese Democracy" on the radio today. Once the horrid vision of David Fricke's bob haircut escaped my consciousness I noticed that "Master Race Rock" by The Dictators was stuck in my head. Puzzling, I hadn't heard this song in a few weeks. Then I realized there was something oddly similar about the two songs. It's not total rip-off, but clearly "Chinese Democracy" should be added as an appendix to the original "Songs That Sound Like Other Songs" post. Just listen to that riff, dun dah-dah dun dah...for shame Axl. Could you at least come up with something slightly original in the last 14 years other than a disgustingly over-produced piece of a Dictators song. Shit, it probably wasn't even your idea since you have been leaching guitar solos and riffs from the 17 guitarists that have passed through the ranks of Axls N' Roses in the last 14 years.
