Motley Crue Selects The Last Vegas Not the Dirty Pearls
Well fuck you Motley Crue. You chose The Last Vegas over the Dirty Pearls in the Make Rock History campaign.
Over the past eight weeks, bands across the United States submitted their music at makerockhistory.com.
From close to 8,000 submissions, 30 semi-finalists were selected, which
were then narrowed down to the six top undiscovered bands with the
Dirty Pearls in the running. The Last Vegas prevailed as the one band chosen for the ultimate, career altering opportunity — the chance to open on tour for rock icons Motley Crue.
In addition to the slot on Motley Crue's 2009 "Saints Of Los Angeles" U.S. tour (dates to be announced on Friday, November 14), The Last Vegas also takes home $25,000 cash, $20,000 in exclusive new gear from Gibson Guitars, management from Tenth Street Entertainment, and a recording deal from Eleven Seven Music.
So the Crue took a band that was already known in many circuits
since 2006 rather than a relatively unknown band in the Dirty Pearls. A
band that has a pretty big following since Guitar Hero sold more than
10 million copies in the United States and you have to play their song
to complete the game. That means at least 10 million people have heard
The Last Vegas.
Don't get me wrong, I think the band is awesome and wish them
luck. But, I just felt that the Crue should have offered the position
to a real unknown band rather than a band that has the publicity that
The Last Vegas has had.
But oddly enough the review didn't make the cut on their "Reviews"
section of their new MySpace site. I will assume the reason is because
our review was not "professional" enough for their new site redesign.
So if you are a band and you want us to write something for you, know that up front it will not be your usual review. You will get a full, honest, and sometimes comical review of your band. But if you seek us out, you already have seen our work and want us to write something for you anyway. All we ask in return is that you use part of our review on your site, mass emailing, or whatever and give us credit.

It could have been worse, the prize could have been $20,000 worth of Fender equipment and Johnny B. would be really pissed
um, i think they are in the midst of a site redesign.... and i agree they ere robbed! hope to see you guys at the shows in dec. -carla
