Chi Cheng, bassist for the the multi-platinium selling band the Deftones, is currently in a coma after a car crash. The bassist, who is 38 years old, was in the passangers seat of an automobile driven by his sister. They were attending a memorial service for his older brother in San Jose, California when they were involved in a crash in Santa Clara Monday.

Chino Moreno had this this to say about Chi:

"Chi is one of the strongest people I know and I'm praying that his strength will get him through this."

The Deftones were working on their sixth album, Eros, which was set to be released in the Spring of '09. I have nothing snarky to say.
