No Jail for Stephen Page
Steven Page, frontman for the Barenaked Ladies, agreed to a deal in a New York courtroom Tuesday that will let him avoid jail time for drug charges laid against him last July.
The agreement, reached between Page's lawyers from the Buffalo-based firm Harrington and Mahoney and the Onondaga County District Attorney's Office, was worked out after the original felony charges against Page and two co-defendants were reduced to misdemeanour charges.
All three had been facing one count each of criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony charge that carries a maximum prison sentence of 5 1/2 years. You can read more about this here: source.
