Coldplay singer Chris Martin states in an interview with a European radio network, "I have nothing but respect for Nickelback. They take a lot of flak from people who have never done f*** all in their life. And I think they're great. That is my final word."
 
Nickelback enjoys a massive worldwide following and has sold millions of records, but many music journalists express intense dislike for the band. Frontman Chad Kroeger told us he couldn't care less: "I think we actually used to pay a little bit of attention to that, and we just kind of accepted it's like, 'Nope, we are never going to be one of those bands, we are never going to be the critic's darlings, and we're okay with that.' Even a lot of critics are kind of like, 'We've done our best to try and get the word out there that as many people as possible should hate this band because we hate this band.' And they've just sort of gone, 'You know what? We can't do it. We cannot convince anybody else to hate this band as much as we do.'"
 
Damn you Chad Kroeger! Why must you continue to reprocess your music, sell it to the public, and make a bazillion dollars. You are essentially rock shit, but people like you. I don't get it. We have also tried to inform the public about how much you suck, but they are not listening. We are going to save our breath for other things.
 
I now deem this a "No Trashing Nickelback" zone. For the next two weeks, I will not make fun of, parody, or otherwise allude to Nickelback. Whatever you are doing, it is clearly working for you.
 
You have set rock back by 10 years, and I can't but look upon your success with envious eyes. Your gravestone will probably read: "Here Lies Chad Kroeger. Murderer of Rock Music. He sold millions of records, enriched the lives around him, and was a thorn in the side of rock journalists." You are an inglorious bastard and my hat is off to you.
