Jason Bonham Leaving Foreigner - Working With Page and Jones
According to Fargo, North Dakota radio station 107.9 The Fox, drummer Jason Bonham revealed this past Friday morning (August 22) on a Detroit radio station that he is leaving Foreigner at the end of this month.
Jason had the following to say:
"I've been over [to England] a couple of times. I've been working with Jimmy [Page] and John Paul [Jones] and trying to do just do some new material and some writing. I don't know what it will be, but it will be something."
"My time with Foreigner is coming to an end. This is the first time I've talked about it. I leave at the end of this month so, I mean, I'm looking forward to taking some time out to be with the family really. Since I moved to America I've been on the road, so my first priority is to go and watch my kids grow up, because they've grown up way to fast in the last four years."
Well this is definitely news. Bonham is jamming with Page and Jones. Could this hint at a world tour? To be honest, I am just hoping for a few one off dates in the States. You don't have to do a full tour for this Zeppelin fan.
The problem will be ticket prices for the event (even a world tour) would be outrageous. I would say higher than $450.00 a ticket at face value. ($450.00 is the current Rolling Stones asking price for top level tickets.) Scalpers will get almost 90% of the tickets and bend you over and screw your hole with no lubricant. I can see one ticket going for at least $1,000 dollars...for crap seats.
If you start saving, you might have the money to see the band in 2009. That is when Robert Plant is finished with his bluegrass tour with Alison Krauss.
Led Zeppelin World Tour 2009-2010, that is what I will predict.
