Motorhead Metal Master Concert Review and Setlist in Camden New Jersey Aug 6th 2008
"We are Motörhead and we play Rock and Roll!!"
These are the first words that you hear as Lemmy Kilmister, Phil Campbell, and Mikkey Dee take the stage in Camden New Jersey on the most recent stop in their tour supporting Judas Priest and Heaven and Hell. Lemmy's voice is absolutely snarling, but it is exactly what his legions of fans have come to expect from him over the years. Kilmister is one of the most recognizable icons in rock history and as of late has achieved a webgen cult status due to Motörhead references in several commercials. We at Blogs N' Roses are not aware of any bandwagon, as we have supported Lemmy and his band for a good percentage of our lives.
We were actually in the grass behind the seated sections so the sound was a little bit garbled. They opened up with Dr. Rock, which created a sea of awful, unispired moshing from the grassy section. During Stay Clean, it was easy to notice that Lemmy was the center of attention. This is to be expected as he is the leader of the band, but Campbell hung back for a good part of the song. He did hit his stride once he got a few guitar solos under his belt.
Be My Baby may have been the best performance of the entire evening (included the other bands). The sound was great, the timing was perfect and Lemmy looked disgusting. A side note must be made...the fans were very much into Motörhead. I believe that they could have drawn this kind of a crowd if they were billed as the headlining act.
They did take this opportunity to push their new album, Motörizer in between chants of "Lemmy, Lemmy". Phil Campbell took the mic from time to time to plug the newer songs as well. Ace of Spades of course got the biggest reaction from the crowd, especially the moshers. The final song was Overkill. This band still has it. Lemmy drinks a fifth of Jack a day and eats nothing but Doritos, and he still rocks harder than most newer, younger bands.

They also played GOIN TO BRAZIL right after Lemmy said "Do you remember Rock and Roll" and they played NO CLASS. What's up with this set list. It's the same one seen everywhere else. If you're gonna drink and write, just remember the songs.
Cara is right, this isn't the setlist we wrote down. Going to Brazil, I don't remember, but I def remember No Class.
Did you get lazy Vic and copy this from Blabbermouth or were your notes so illegible you couldn't read them?
What is a setlist? Just kidding. I typed exactly what we had written on the little notepad.
It will be great if you showed the video from this great concert. It seems to me you were even luck to be behind the seated sections. I cannot understand how people manage to listen to such songs and sit. They must be stone-hearted.
