The Rolling Stones Sign with Universal Prompting At Least Four Predictable Dinosaur Jokes
Today The Rolling Stones inked a long-term deal with Universal, ending their brief 150 year run at EMI. This, their second high profile contract signed in the last eon follows the well publicized pact with the Devil for immortality, which Keith Richards signed on the back of a T. Rex just before the release of Let It Bleed.
The Universal deal includes future releases and the post-Sticky Fingers New Testament. So in essence, Universal bought Exile on Main Street, the subsequent 50 albums that sounded like watered down Exile on Main Street and new albums that will sound like Exile on Main Street.
I'm going to Salvation Army to find Exile on vinyl and gleefully laugh knowing I've cheated Universal and iTunes out of $9.99.
