MSN Music Writers Suck
MSN has put out a list of top 11 people/bands who should just stop putting out new music. The creators of said list basically want these artists to rest on their back catalog of hits and never make new music ever again.
Some of the artists on the list are classics with a great back catalog. Quality musicians should never be stymied creating new music. Even the shittiest album by The Rolling Stones still beats 98% of the shit out there.
Here is MSN's list in no particular order
Madonna
The Black Crowes
The Who
Ray Davies
Joni Mitchell
Bryan Adams
The Rolling Stones
Elton John
Carly Simon
Def Leppard
While A Bigger Bang wasn't the strongest Stones album to grace this planet, it is still better than Silver Side Up by Nickelback or the latest album released through Starbucks by Paul McCartney.
But hipsters who write these lists are infatuated endlessly with Paul McCartney so he will never be on a list like that. So I decided to put a list of 11 artists who should just stop making albums...and it would be awesome if they just went away period. I would put them in order, but they are all a big, fiber injected, number 2.

I had an argument with myself by including a few on the list because they are not technically "artists." Nickelback has one album that they repackage with different artwork and song titles. Is that an artist? Not really, but tier record company is calling them that, so we will also use their terms.

These clueless wonders obviously haven't heard the lately Black Crowes albums...either that or they aren't fucking human.

I think you posted this on the wrong story. But I will still defend my statement.
I didn't mean actually SOLD his company, just that he sold out. He sold out to target a younger generation and with that comes tailoring stories around flavors of the week because the younger generation doesn't have the distinguished musical palette.
