After skyrocketing to fame on a sampling of the Rolling Stones, The Verve were embarassed and depressed. They left the music industry for a long time. It wasn't until Coldplay's Chris Martin, friend of Richard Ashcroft, helped get the band back together. Thank god he did.

The Verve are set to release a brand new record on August 12. It will mark the first time in 11 years that The Verve have released an album. I am glad to see that the band didn't let the Rolling Stones beat them into submission.
