Kanye West at Bonnaroo

Kanye West is at it again. This time he decided to go on-stage two hours late at the Bonnaroo Music Festival. Pearl Jam played an hour longer than they were supposed to. They wrapped up their set at about 1:15 am.

Then there was a period where the dilligent Pearl Jam roadies took the set down and the Kanye roadies erected his Glow in the Dark set. I admit, the Glow in the Dark set seems like a cool idea. I almost paid money just to see the spectacular.

Mr. West was supposed to go on-stage at 2:45am. But this didn't happen. Kayne didn't show up until about 4:30am. Almost 2 hours after he was supposed to.

Kanye never even offered a reason as to why he was late. The nerve of this guy! So the crowd booed him and the story really isn't all that interesting.

Bonnaroo I don't think is a good fit for Kanye. Robert Randolph, certainly, but Kanye, not so much. I think the festival promotes improvisation and extended jams, but Kayne doesn't strike me as the improv jam artist.

Anyway, we in the rock community should be used to this type of behavior. We have our own resident diva, Axl Rose. Axl doesn't take the stage before 11pm. So if the Guns N' Roses show starts at 8 and the opening act is done at 9, you have to wait 2 hours until Axl thinks about hitting the stage.

So honestly, what is the story here? The guy not right for the festival goes on-stage at 4:15 am instead of 2:45am. Who cares at that time of the day anyway? Weren't most people asleep in their camping tents anyway?

The only reason this is even being covered is because the media likes to promote Kanye and his antics.
