The Dirty Pearls Volume 2

My tax rebate check hasn't come in the mail yet. If yours did, you could donate it to charity or do something good with it. However, I suggest you buy The Dirty Pearls Volume 2. You can find the cd here: http://cdbaby.com/cd/dirtypearls2 or through iTunes.

Not many bands have the balls to start their six song ep out with a guitar solo, but then those other bands are pussy posers who are not weened off their mother teat. That is not the Dirty Pearls style. They are a kick ass rock n roll band ready to dominate the U.S.

The Dirty Pearls Volume 2 starts out like Godzilla stomping a freshly built Tokyo. Roaring through your stereo the first track Bruises announces the band is here to destroy your eardrums in a melodic trance of guitar solos, rolling rhythm sections, and catchy London-esque lyrics.

The Bruises heal and make way for the riff laden All Eyes On You. If this song doesn't make you casually strut around your house, car, or church while occasionally kicking in the air with your snakeskin boots, you are not listening to it loud enough. Turn this song up to 11 and let your priest strut around in his robe. The song also contains a bad ass harmonica solo at the end, which is manlier than my first communion tutor, Helga Chronkite.

The midway point is probably the most radio friendly song of the group, LuvSikLuv. That is if this Nazi FCC radio would accept songs explicitly about drugs. This song has a catchy chorus, a great groove, and a sultry/sexy swagger. I have tried to use it have sex because the song would be perfect, but Melanie the hooker only likes Dragonforce. It still remains my favorite song.

The rest of the cd powers by faster than I want it to; that's a good thing. I find myself driving faster than I should be listening to this EP and having the songs end abruptly. After weeping for the end, I restart my iPod and listen again. Cherry Blossom Valentine, whose meaning is still unknown, Black and White Movies, my second favorite track on the album behind LuvSikLuv, and Gimme Gimme round the CD out.

Buy this cd and Volume 1 while you are at it. They are worth it. There isn't one bad song on either EP and both EP's make for one kick ass good time. I am not a smoker, but after listening to both EP's in a row, I have to smoke a cigarette. If you are not sexually gratified by the end of these EP's and are ladies, see Marty E. I am sure he will help ya out. Don't see us, we are colossal disappointments in bed.

Get the CD's before seeing the band in their element, live and loud. Here are two upcoming shows.
