More than two weeks ago Joe Wettner and I had the pleasure of seeing an almost sober Scott Weiland fronting Stone Temple Pilots. It appears that Scott is having trouble making it to the stage on-time.
 
On Saturday night in Homdel, New Jersey, Scott Weiland showed up almost an hour late and forced STP to go onstage much later than they were supposed to.
 
He then had this severely fucked up response where he apologizes for being late because he met a girl. That was the reason for his lateness. Robert DeLeo cuts him off saying "Apology accepted brother" and then they start the show. You can see the clip below, but it is tough to make out his slurred words.
 
He then busts into this borderline performance of Lady Picture Show. It was pitchy and not the same quality that we saw at the WMMR-B-Que. I think we can start taking bets on what will happen first. Will Scott be arrested for drugs? Overdose? Die? When will this tour get cancelled? It is a sad day as the entire staff is a huge fan of his. I hope he gets it together. If Van Halen can continue to tour so can Stone Temple Pilots.



I didn't notice Scott off the wagon at our performance, but we were only the second show of the tour. I don't know how he is going to make it through the rest of this tour. But I wish the band luck.
