Suing the Ramones...How Dare You
"Richie Ramone" Reinhardt sued the Ramones for what he saw as owed royalties on digital sales of songs he cowrote with the rest of them.
Richie was the drummer from 1983-1987 and wrote six songs for the Ramones. "Smash You" "Somebody Put Something in My Drink" "Human Kind" "I'm Not Jesus" "I know Better Now" and "(You) Can't Say Something Nice" I think they are some of the worst Ramones songs ever created.
Judge Shira Scheindlin threw the case out of District Court citing the contract Richie signed covered future formats.
Sadly, Johnny, Joey, and Dee Dee Ramone have all died in recent years. Tommy Ramone is the only surviving original member.

"Somebody Put Something in My Drink" is a damn good song, and the guy deserves to get paid...he didn't get the $$ he deserved when he was in the band either.
Just saying.

He was paid for his contribution. He felt he deserved more because his contract didn't extend to digitial record sales...or so he thought. The judge ruled otherwise.
No extra coin for him.

I love The Ramones. They are such talented musicians. Because of them, I worked hard to become a good electric guitar bass player.
