Grace Slick and Paul Kantner Settle Dispute

Grace Slick, lead singer of Jefferson Airplane and Jefferson Starship, has finally settled a licensing dispute with long time collaborator and guitarist, Paul Kantner.

Slick sued Kantner over the rights of the Jefferson Starship name. Kantner still tours under the band name and this pisses off Slick. The courts decided on Friday that Kantner can continue to tour under the Jefferson Starship name, but he has to pay a fee to use the name.

All of this is 20 years after anyone cares. Besides they were the worst Jefferson (vehicle) incarnation. "We Built This City" is one of the cheesiest, and lyrically vapid music turd ever created. The only Jefferson band that mattered was Jefferson Airplane.

You can read more details about the case here at the SF Chronicle.

Now listen to a great song, Jefferson Airplane - White Rabbit
