Drowning Pool Meets Philadelphia Phillies

Ben Apatoff of MLB.com reports: The Houston Astros were not the only Texas-based group that Phillies pitchers Brett Myers and Brad Lidge encountered at Citizens Bank Park on April 17. Before the game the pitchers met with Drowning Pool, whose hit song "Soldiers" is both players' entrance music.

The hirsute, tattooed men of DROWNING POOL, who are self-proclaimed "sports fanatics," stopped by the Phillies' playing field amidst their nationwide headlining tour. While awaiting Lidge and Myers' appearances, the Dallas band talked sports with reporters, citing the Rangers and the Astros as their favorite teams. "Starting this year, we're going to be huge Phillies fans," said bassist Stevie Benton.

I just hope the Philly Choke doesn't rub off on Drowning Pool. If it does you will see them cancelling a whole string of concerts and/or lose the ability to play during the middle of the set.
