Bob Dylan Pens Kids Book

Bob Dylan's song "Forever Young" will be turned into a children's book. The inspirational message is tailored made for a children's book. The song (and potentially the book) is about staying young and living life to the fullest.

When you are young you can do anything. "The future is wide open." You could be the president of the United States or an astronaut, or a writer on a third rate blog.

But then environment starts to play into things. Can you become a smart astronaut when you are in a crowded, public school system that doesn't care about your success? Are you in public school because your parents can't or won't pay for private school? Have they moved to get into a better public school district or has their go-nowhere job forced them to live in the same place for years trying to make ends meet?

Then you have to overcome genes, which is way tougher than overcoming environment. While you can move out or study hard, you can't suddenly gain common sense or superior intellect.

So kids...read this book and attempt to stay forever young. There are a lot of people who want you to fail in life. Ignore the haters. I will leave you with a few phrases from my college English professor, Winter, imparted on us. He always said don't follow too much of your emotion, it gets you in trouble. Try to work on reason. His slogan was: "Don't Ignore Emotion, Just Engineer Solid Solutions." Emotion generally leads to trouble or misinterpretation. A sound mind and a logical solution will be your foundation to life. Smart man.

He was right in that sense, but he was a bit insane. His other famous slogan was: "I Hope All Things End Young Or Undiscriminating." I never understood that one, but I think he meant only the good die young or at the very least don't become an old Strom Thurman.

Professor Winter was always living life to the fullest, but he hated being old and wished death would come quickly. It finally came for him in my senior year. His bungee cord snapped when he was bungee jumping in Mexico. Don't bungee jump in Mexico, they just don't have the safety regulations we have here in the United States.
