Stoke on Trent, the birthplace of Lemmy Kilmister has declared the 13th of April, 2008 to be the inaugural Neville Chamberlain day.

For those lacking a keen eye for history, Chamberlain was the dope who let Hitler walk all over Europe in a really lame effort to avoid conflict. History would have been much kinder to Mr. Chamberlain if Hitler wasn't such a evil bastard. Ol' Adolph played Neville like a fiddle and we've been paying for the last six decades. Ahh...nothing like a really stupid mistake to fuck up the next sixty years.

Neville tried to do the right thing, but sometimes the right thing isn't the best thing. Sometimes you gotta stick it up somebody's ass to save your own hide. Sometimes you've gotta make sure you still have a spine, otherwise we all turn into a bunch of nancy-boy appeasers.
