Metallica To Play New Material On Upcoming Tour

If you are a die hard Metallica fan like I am, you are anxious to hear what the new album will sound like. Guess what!!! You may not have to wait that long. Earlier this week drummer Lars Ulrich gave a statement to the UK based magazine Kerrang! that they will play some new material on the upcoming tour.

Metallica will be headlining the Reading and Leeds Festivals in England on the weekend of August 22nd through the 24th. Here's the official statement from Lars....

"We're psyched to play some new songs," he laughed. "In fact, if we don't, then I give people permission to come and find me and slap me across the face! We're certainly planning on rolling out some of the new songs for the first time, but right now our focus is on finishing the record. As soon as that's out of the way, we'll be hitting the rehearsal room and getting to grips with playing these bastards live!"

I, for one, am excited to hear some new shit from Metallica; but I am also a little skeptic. I keep asking myself the same question, can they redeem themselves after St. Anger?  This album will be the ninth studio from Metallica and is expected to hit the stores in September.

If I ever see Lars, I am going to back-nut him for St. Anger.
