Shinedown Talks Upcoming Record

Shinedown’s new, yet still untitled, album will be out on June 24. Lead singer Brent Smith said to Billboard:

“It’s time to just go over the top, literally go above and beyond what a human being thinks they’re capable of recording. We want to do a huge hard rock record that has a lot of crossover potential but also some of the most insanely intense and heavy material that this band has ever tried — and see if we can pull it off. Smith says the group has more than 40 songs to consider after writing sessions in Atlanta, Nashville and Los Angeles, and is “still writing.”

It sounds like Brent wants a heavy metal Nickelback album. I think it is a distinct possiblity after they released this smash, pop angst, song:

Now I want everyone on the right side of the stage to back toward the wall. Everyone on the left side of the stage to back toward that wall. Then when I count to three, I want you to run to the middle of the mosh pit and release all your anger. Give all your anger to me. Send me all your anger and hate. -Brent being really emo at a concert I saw.
