Metallica Reissue Vinyl
Vinyl is back and apparently quite lucrative. Hipsters will flock to anything that is "new" old. So Metallica is re-releasing their old vinyls again.
An annoncement at Metallica.com (formerly Napster.com), reads:
"While we're finishing up the new album, we told the dudes at the record company we thought it might be cool to dust off the old tapes and get all retro with some vinyl re-releases....First up are the first two albums (duh! <audibly heard as a donkey breighing>) "Kill 'Em All" and "Ride the Lightning" coming out April 15 in North American."
The announcement continues:
"There will be two versions...one like the original on a single disc spinning at 33 1/3, the other a two disc, 180 gram vinyl, 45 rpm package all in a double gatefold."
This is a waste of money. You can buy Metallica vinyl on ebay for $10.00 or find it locally at thrift stores and garage sales. Buying a new vinyl record is about as smart as buying a townhouse in Delaware.
If you want to buy the 180 gram vinyl, you are an even dumber ass. Kill 'Em All was never recorded in high quality due to the band's monetary funds at the time. At that point, you are just overpaying and giving the band money to record St. Anger. It is almost as bad as buying St. Anger on vinyl, but no one could make that mistake.

Since I am the site's self appointed authority and guru of all things vinyl and goodwill, I will chime in here. The reason I don't own any Metallica on vinyl is because it's impossible to find in a thrift store. This is most likely because Lars has purchased the remaining stock of used Metallica LPs forcing men like Joey to buy new vinyl even though he does not own a turn table.
You are such a hipster.
