Nine Inch Nails Made $750k

Trent Reznor truly is a genius. He realized his new instrumental album "Ghosts I-IV" through the internet. He gave his fans various options at various pricing points.

Fans bought 2,500 copies of the ultradeluxe edition of the new album priced at $300.00.  Here were your package offerings:

Free - Download 9 of 36 tracks
$5.00 - Download all four digital albums
$10.00 - Download all four digital albums + 2 CD
$75.00 - 2 audio cds, 1 data DVD, Blu-Ray disc with Ghosts I-IV in HD
$300.00 - Ultra deluxe edition package

The experiment has netted Trent $750,000 dollars, far more successful than Radiohead's foray into the same venture. Trent also licensed Ghosts I-IV under a Creative Commons license that allows fans to copy and distribute the music they buy.

If I had 1/3 of the talent Trent Reznor has, this website would be as big as Patrick Swayze's pancreatic cancer.
