Nikki Sixx remembers the 80's...sort of
The decade of the 80's had many variables and few constants. Ugly clothes, cheesy movies, and Nikki Sixx's death defying drug addictions were as 80's as moral looseness is to Paris Hilton. Due to a recent resurgence in popularity from his book and album, "The Heroine Diaries", Nikki has spent some time answering questions about the accuracy of the events in his book.
Nikki would not stand for this kind of slander (in his mind) and has cited very credible sources who were around him a lot during the Crue's heyday.
Could you imagine being such an addict in the 80's that they only way anybody will believe your stories is by listening to first hand accounts from Duff McKagan, Axl Rose, Slash, Vince Neil and Tommy Lee? There are probably few people in America with wilder decades than this motley crew (pun intended). Nikki also threatened to share some of his memories with Werman's wife, which according to Sixx, she would be very interested in.
Here is Nikki being awesome.
| Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx has fired back at producer Tom Werman, who called Sixx's memoir, The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star, "totally deluded" and "stunningly inaccurate" in a letter to the New York Times. Werman took issue with Sixx's claims that the bassist did all the work in the studio on the Crue albums Theatre of Pain, Shout at the Devil and Girls, Girls, Girls while Werman chatted on the phone. |

| Sixx interviewed others for his book, including members of his own band and Guns N' Roses, to back up his accounts of that period because he was too high at the time to be sure of his own memories. Sixx told us that he was not quite himself in those days: "I mean, it was a different person. Even though it was the same person in flesh, you know, in spirit it was a person that was on a kamikaze mission. And now I have a different mission." |
