Springsteen, Young Create Anti-War Soundtrack

Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, and Pearl Jam have contributed songs to an anti-war soundtrack. The soundtrack will be for a documentary about a U.S. soldier who was paralyzed in Iraq.

The two-disc album entitled "Body of War: Songs That Inspired an Iraq War Vetern" is slated to be released on March 18. All proceeds will go directly to the Iraq Veterns Against the War charity.

Here comes the direct from press release talk:

"Body of War" focuses on Tomas Young, an Army soldier paralyzed upon arriving in Iraq. It will open on March 13 in Austin, Texas, and expand nationally in subsequent months. Talk show vetern Phil Donahue directed the film with Elaine Spiro.

Eddie Vedder put together the album because that is apparently what he does now after his "Into the Wild" soundtrack. He also wrote the first single "No War."

Springsteen contributed "Devils & Dust," and Neil Young "The Restless Consumer." Other tracks include "Yo George" from Tori Amos, "Son of a Bush" from Public Enemy, and "Bushonomics" from Talib Kweli & Cornel West.

I have no snarky comments for this. Whether you are pro-war or anti-war, our soldiers need our support. Don't forget that just because you hate the current administration.

Also, first U.S. soldiers to email us a picture with a Blogsnroses sticker, in Iraq, wins something extra juicy.
