Foo Fighters Review

For those of you that don't know who I am, let me take this time to introduce myself. My name is Lars. To answer your question yes that is my face that is super imposed on the baby's body that makes appearances from time to time in Metallica articles. Now that we got that out of the way, lets get down to business.

On 2/21/08 me and one of my fellow BnR associates attended a sold out Foo Fighters show that took place at the Wachovia Spectrum in Philly. In my eyes the Foo's had a lot to live up to. Coming off the huge success from their latest album "Echoes, Silence, Patience, & Grace" and winning multiple Grammy's, I set a very high standard. Let me be the first to tell, they did not disappoint at all. They were everything I expected and more. The only downside about the entire evening (besides the drunk guy who fell asleep in the seat next to me) was the opening acts.

The first of the two opening acts was a foursome from Florida called Against Me. The only thing I found remotely entertaining about this band was the lead singer tried to sing with an Irish accent at the most awkward times. Ok lets move onto the next train wreck. The second opening act was Serj Tankian from System of a Down. Not only was he horrible but his new band sounds just like System. Plus he had what I like to refer to as a premature ejaculation on stage. He played the only hit he has very early in his set. Actually I think it was his second song.

When the Foo's took the stage they played hit after hit with no let up. In my eyes they captured the essence of a true Rock N Roll concert. They even had a triangle solo! What more could you want?
