Linkin Park will perform 'in the round'

The Pulse of Radio is reporting that Linkin Park will perform shows with a 'center' stage setup.

Mike Shinoda
revealed "A number of shows are being sold at 360 degrees. So that means that the stage is obviously set up for a 360 degree show, and a number of venues, such as Staples Center, Madison Square Garden, they sold out to 270 degrees, so now we opened it up to 360. So it's a great thing that the shows are selling out and we're able to open them up and play in the round."

Take a look at the stage set up for the Linkin Park Madison Square Garden show.

Madison Square Garden - Linkin Park

Does this look like they are playing "in the round"? Here is my idea of a stage setup for someone playing 'in the round.'

 Madison Square Garden - Center

Metallica played in the round. The stage was specifically designed to be in the center of the arena. This gave fans an equidistant view of the band no matter where they sat in the arena. Linkin Park are just taking the basic, ordinary stage setup and removing the back tarp so people behind the stage can view them.

If any fans are going to this show, please email me and let me know if the stage or the drum kit spins around to face the fans behind the stage. If so, Linkin Park: 1 Craig Wettner: 0.
