Phil Anselmo responsible for Dimebag's death, says Darrell's former girlfriend
According to a recent interview in Guitar World Magazine with Dimebag Darrell Abbott's former girlfriend, Rita Haney, Phil Anselmo's drug addictions and other issues were responsible for the shooting death of the former Pantera and Damageplan guitarist. Haney states that if Pantera remained together, Darrell would have never had to perform a crappy venue such as the one where he was murdered. She holds Anselmo responsible for this. From WMMR.com:
Haney maintains that Anselmo's drug addictions and other issues led to the demise of Pantera. That in turn forced Abbott and his brother, drummer Vinnie Paul, to start over with Damageplan and play smaller venues like the Alrosa Villa nightclub in Columbus, Ohio, where disturbed gunman Nathan Gale shot Abbott to death onstage. Haney says, "The bottom line is Phil's actions led to what happened. The guy wouldn't have been after Vinnie and Darrell if Pantera had not broken up. It was all due to Phil's stupid, stupid actions."

It seems that Darrell also had issues with his Damageplan singer Patrick Lachman.
Haney also says that Abbott called her from the road during his final days to express unhappiness with Damageplan singer Patrick Lachman. She claims that Abbott told her, "It got to the point where Darrell blew up completely. He said, 'Look, if I want a d***head for a singer I'll call up Phil Anselmo! I can at least make money with that motherf***er.'"

This is the most ridiculous thing I have heard. Why not blame Phil's parents for having sex and thus creating him?
The blame rests soley on the man who took a gun into the place and shot Dimebag. If he was determined to kill him, for whatever fucked up reason, it was inevitable.
I have some harsh advice for Ms. Haney....it's been 4 years get over it.
I also blame Robert Kennedy for breaking up the "Kennedy Glorified 5 band." If it wasn't for Robert's ego, Lee Harvey Oswald would have never shot JFK.

They should make movies after this plot... perhaps this way some people will learn what to do to stay out of trouble. The basics is simple: just stay out of drugs!
