Hey Runaways, You Have Options, says Ludacris
Last year, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges wrote the chart topping song "Runaway Love." He never knew the impact the song would have on runaways.
"I couldn't believe how many people reached out to say that song affected their lives," the musician told those attending a benefit for the Chicago-based National Runaway Switchboard at the Drake Hotel.
"I wrote it to tell kids that they don't have to run away, there are other solutions. But this was much more than a song. It became a movement."
I was not familiar with the song so I looked up the lyrics on the web.
Hey, baby, where you going
Now wait a minute
You can't leave now
Now we been through this before
You know I hate to piss on the floor
Don't let that pimp call you a whore
I know you think your parents are so mean
But baby girl you only be thirteen
Oh I am sorry, that was R. Kelly's version of Runaway Love. R. Kelly has been providing options for underage runaways for years. R. Kelly the saint.
