The Verve Reuniting?
Back in this article, I told you that The Verve is going to reunite. However, we haven't heard much from the band since June.
According to the Syndicate, The Verve got together again for the first time in nine years. The band met at a recording studio in West London. They picked up the instruments and started playing. The recordings are now called "The Thaw Sessions," and 14 minutes were recorded of the band being themselves.
Thanks to NME, the band has made those 14 minutes availble for download as an MP3 for the next 7 days.
The band has been slowly warming back up to this whole reunio thing, by announcing a show in Nottingham Arena in the UK on December 7th. More ticket info can be found here.
Hopefully Mick Jagger and Keith Richards will get another payday out of this band. I must profess that I saw Richard Ashcroft open up for Coldplay in April of 2006 and he was entertaining. He is almost as jaded as Chuck Berry...almost. His entire monlogue was about how he wrote the song "Bittersweet Symphony" and then the Stones swooped in and stole it from him. Then they sold the song to a car company profitting to the tune of millions off a song they never even wrote. He was also pissed that he has to pay the Stones to play the song. Do the crime, do the time Ashcroft.

And to think that just a decade ago The Stones would only be accused of thievery from more selective company like Brian Jones, Mick Taylor, Ry Cooder, Bill Wyman and at least two Dalai Lamas...sonsabitches!
