Joe Wettner and I spend a lot of time at a local bar which features Rugby almost exclusively.  Now, we all know the progression.  Baseball players seem like pussies compared to football players.  In turn, football players seem like pussies compared to hockey players.  Hockey players seem like pussies compared to soccer players (this is purely due to the athletisism needed to play soccer).  In comparison to all of these, Rugby is simply a much manlier sport.  Proof may be found below.
