What Happened to Duran Duran

Duran Duran was a great band in the 80's. They had some great hits "Rio" "Hungry Like the Wolf" etc. But what have they done recently? Let me tell you.

The band has a new album coming out called "Red Carpet Massacre" and they are playing nine shows at New York's Barrymore Theatre.

According to Pollstar.com, the band will play every track from the new CD, along with some of the old hits during their two-hour show.

Simon LeBon said in an online announcement, "Staging a run on Broadway is something that we've often talked about over the years, but the time has never seemed right until now. We started work on 'Red Carpet Massacre' in New York...so it feels fitting to be launching it here."

The shows begin on November 1 and prices range from $75 to $150 dollars. But let's be honest, this is a glorified resident concert stint. The difference between Bon Jovi doing 7 nights at the new hockey arena in Trenton or Duran Duran doing a 9 night stint is the potential drawing power. Duran Duran doesn't have that nostaligia act feel that someone like Bon Jovi commands. Duran Duran also hasn't put out a relevant album since the 80's. Broadway is the only place that would take the band.

I choose to remember the good times though.
