According to Contact Music, Bono has officially sold out to the faceless record label machines. The frontman of U2 will collaborate with the Spice Girls on a new song set to be released this Christmas.

 

The Spice Girls are set to release a greatest hits collection this holiday season and their record company feels that they have lost their appeal. The record company has enlisted the help of Bono to "boost their [Spice Girls] appeal and widen their fanbase."

A source at the British tabloid The Daily Mirror reports, "It might seem unusual with the Spice Girls' pop roots and the much more rockier work of Bono, but it works. There has been a bit of unease as to how the album will perform and if there's still a solid Spice Girls' fanbase out there. However, Bono's involvement has lifted the whole camp and he's delighted to have been asked and add his experience."

In other news, hell has just frozen over and I threw up in my mouth. In no alternative universe can this be accepted. But I suppose it is just Bono trying to get more publicity for his African charities. I thought Daniel Edwards was crazy when he sculpted the following statue, but he wasn't too far off.
