Van Halen kicks off their tour

Van Halen kicks off their long awaited reunion tour tonight in Charlotte, North Carolina. I would post the setlist, but I want all of you to go and be "surprised." I will post the setlist after the first Philly show.

The purpose of this post is to acknowledge the last time Van Halen was in Philadelphia. That would be the REAL Van Halen and not that shitty band with Hagar on vocals.

Some people believe that if they saw Van Hagar and David Lee Roth solo, that combining those experiences equals Van Halen. That is flawed thinking. Don't worry die hard Van Halen fans that man will be punished in the afterlife by 1,000 hellbeasts gnawing at his body for 1,000 hours. Then after those 1,000 hours he will subjected to Bette Midler singing "Hero" for the rest of eternity.

It was March 1984 and the band played the Spectrum. At that show Van Halen filmed a very important video for their next single, Panama. That's right, the last time Van Halen was in Philadelphia has been emblazed in a music video film. So without further ado, I bring you the Panama video with live shots from inside the Spectrum.
