The backstage antics of James Hetfield before he burns
In 1992, Metallica and Guns N' Roses went on tour together. It was a huge financial success. But during this tour, Hetfield suffered severe second and third degree burns to his left arm due to pyrotechnics during the opening of "Fade to Black" in the Olympic Stadium in Montreal. The incident left him unable to play guitar for a portion of the tour.
After a long delay, during which the audience become increasingly restless, Guns N' Roses took the stage. However, the shortened time between sets did not allow for adequate tuning of stage monitors, resulting in musicians not being able to hear themselves. Then Axl Rose claimed his throat hurt and they left the stage. This of course caused a riot.
Well this YouTube clip is from the 1992 documentary A Year and a Half in the Life of Metallica. It contains a clip of James reading Axl Rose's rider and Sebastian Bach claiming he is Dave Mustaine. This clip happened a mere hour before James was to burn on stage.

"Well...you know, a tennis racket can kind of be like an air guitar."
