Should Bob Marley's Delaware residency be exploited by Joe Biden to win the presidency?
"Finally in 1966, he paid his mother a visit, but he had little use for the United States, and Delaware in particular. By his own admission, "Everything was too fast, too noisy, too rush-rush." Nonetheless, he prolonged his stay to earn money to start his own record label back home, and thus put some distance between himself and the predatory producers he and the Wailers were forced to deal with.
Among the jobs he held, under the alias Donald Marley, were a stint as a DuPont lab assistant and a short stretch on the night shift at a warehouse and on the assembly line of a nearby Chrysler plant. The introverted singer made few friends, preferring to merely tolerate the present and fantasize about the future. In his mother's words, he was "lost without his musician friends.""
Now read the title. Does it make sense? No, probably not. Why would Joe Biden focus on a very short period of time that a musician having nothing to do with him lived in his state? Perhaps it is because he has foot in mouth syndrome. Do we remember his controversial comments about Illinois Senator Barack Obama?
"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy, ... I mean, that's a storybook, man."
It's not Biden's fault that he's out of touch. For all we know he still references Sam Cooke when describing young men being shot to death. The point is, if Biden were to embrace Marley's roots in the Diamond State, he may be able to turn some votes his way.
This is Bn'R's message to Joe Biden. If you hope to defeat Clinton or Obama, embrace your Rasta roots brother. Come on mon, you know you want to.
