The Return of Whitey Ford (Obligatory Hip Hop Post of the Week)

I'm positive a lot of you have been wondering where Everlast has gone, and the rest of you are wondering...who the fuck is Everlast.  1/3 of the hip-hop group House of Pain along with DJ Lethal and Danny Boy, Everlast went solo "for real" after the destruction of HOP, but he also released a piece pre-HOP. The debut album that was released before the formation of House of Pain was called "Forever Everlasting" and it flopped harder than the 500lb man off the high dive into a pool of bricks.

After the success of "Jump Around" (aka the only House of Pain song I could think of) as well as a major heart attack, Everlast went solo again when the group disbanded. The outcome was "Whitey Ford Sings the Blues", which was released in 1998 and featured the hit song "What Its Like".  Big Hit!

In 2000 "Eat at Whitey's" was released, an initial failure that eventually went platinum, most likely because of a lyrical feud between Everlast and Eminem...which was great entertainment by the way.

The follow-up in 2004 "White Trash Beautiful" was another steamer, of course it was the record label mishandled the project which caused the failure.  Now under new management Whitey gets political with his upcoming release "Love, War, and the Ghost of Whitey Ford"

The album should be available for purchase sometime early 2008.  Keep an eye out for it......if your into that Irish/hip-hop/country/acoustic/electric/rock mix.  At the very least you should check out some of the songs from the Everlast/Eminem feud, such as D12's single "Shit On You" and Everlast's "Whitey's Revenge".

So who won this thing? I can't tell.
