The Fine Line Between Wild Success and Tribute Bands
Welcome to Part I of "Life Lessons with Blogs N Roses," starring Michael White and Nikki Sixx as themselves.
A long time ago (1979), in a galaxy far, far away (Hollywood), the aforementioned dramatis personae both played in a long forgotten band known as London. Now, everyone here is familiar with Mr. Sixx, but who is this Michael White character? Kindly reference page 36 of the unabridged version of The Dirt, as Mr. White enjoyed a brief tenure as London's lead singer. Now, Nikki and White didn't see eye to eye on anything. "We called ourselves London, but what we really were was Motley Crue before Motley Crue. Except for Michael White. Everything that I despised, he worshiped. ... So we fired him for having curly hair, placed an ad in The Recycler, and met Nigel Benjamin." If Nikki wielded a red light saber, Michael had the blue one. White counters with his own take on his fallout with Sixx, which apparently involved embezzled money, the busted door at the Motley House and a really nasty sofa.

Have a look around White's site, he's got a few old war stories and important life lessons for you young bucks out there. White used to play in The Boyz with George Lynch from Dokken, double dated with Eddie Van Halen, hung out with DLR and was almost signed by Gene Simmons. Like Lizzie Grey, Michael White could have almost "made it" on several occasions, but always drew the short straw (unless he was imitating Led Zeppelin.) While White wasn't as successful as his peers, he certainly does not deserve any pity. His revenge came in the form of the world's first Zeppelin tribute band and the 50 pounds of raw sewage he dumped in a club in Milwaukee.
For you young bucks out there, "Sometimes you get the bear, sometimes the bear gets you...err...sometimes Nikki Sixx takes your $800, sometimes you flood a club with raw sewage."
Behold! Here is a ultra-rare video of London. Don't knock the quality, this old London stuff is more valuable than the Shroud of Turin.
