The Good Old Days of the New

In this episode of Where Did They Go, we will explore the disappearance of the once platinum band Tantric

Made up of three of the four original members of Days of the New (Todd Whitener, Matt Taul, and Jesse Vest), plus the vocal stylings of Hugo Ferreira (of Merge fame), Tantric released their hugely successful  2001 self titled album.  The album had hit songs such as 'Breakdown', 'Mourning', and 'Astounded'.

Three years later the band struck again with 'After We Go', their poorly recieved sophomore attempt....in my opinion a solid album.  ......And then the destruction began,  in 2005 Jesse Vest jumped ship to spend time with the family.  Then after a year, in 2006 they split with Maverick Records and shopped for a new label while also working on their third album.

At this point most of the third album has been scrapped and re-worked, and Hugo is the last man standing.  Todd along with Bruce LaFrance (replacement bassist for Jesse Vest) started a project called Interchange (www.myspace.com/interchangemusic) and Matt Taul has since joined Nova Red (www.myspace.com/novared).

Tantric is carried on by Hugo and his new band consisting of former Fuel drummer Kevin Miller , Joe Pessia on guitar, Erik Leonhardt (the bands third bassist), and Marcus Ratzenboeck wielding his electric violin (sounds wild right?)

Listen for yourself at www.myspace.com/tantric. You decide and COMMENT on the new sound......good, bad, whatever.......keep in mind there is an electric violin (yeehaw!).

For those feel like busting some nuts visit http://www.daysofthenewfanclub.com/dotnbb/ and be sure to
remind them that Tantric was always the better band. True or not, its sure to piss off Message board fan fruits.
Its fun the whole family can enjoy!

I am sure you are familiar with the A&E program "Intervention." Well just last week I saw an episode with Travis Meeks from Days of the New.

He looked awful! His face was so raw because of meth-itch. His life is in shambles and I don't really think the Intervention worked.

Don't expect a new Days of the New album anytime soon.
