80% of Guns N' Roses are set to reunite
Four out of five original members of the classic Guns N' Roses lineup will, supposedly reunite next week. The event is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the debut album Appetite for Destruction. The event will take place at the Key Club in Los Angeles on July 28.Before I continue with the story can you guess who won't be there? Is there any reason to continue the story? Yes, because despite was William Bailey believes, the world does not revolve around him.
Stephen Adler, in an interview after Rocklahoma, said "I'll be down there with my band [Adler's Appetite] and Slash, Izzy, and Duff will be there too. It's gonna be great."
Adler doesn't expect Axl Rose to even show up.
"Axl and I spoke to each other in Las Vegas recently, and I know there's a chance. It's just too big. Whatever the Stones make when they play, we'd triple it. It'd be ridiculous not to do it. He can't be that goofy."
Oh Stephen, that heroin stroke has certainly wiped more of your memory that we initially thought. Axl Rose is a self-absorbed ego maniac. They only man who believes the world is waiting for his next bowel movement can certainly be that 'goofy.'
Another interesting angle on this story, the Key Club is listing L.A. Guns as another performer for the event. Tracii Guns put the Guns in Guns N' Roses, as it was the combination of Tracii Guns band (L.A. Guns) and Axl Roses band (Hollywood Rose) that formed the base of Guns N' Roses.
A quick history lesson for those BnR readers not versed on the topic. The original Guns N' Roses lineup consisted of Tracii Guns, Ole Beich, Rob Garner from L.A. Guns and Axl Rose and Izzy Stradlin from Hollywood Rose. The band Guns N' Roses was a side project that Tracii and Axl put together. Tracii, Rob, and Ole left the band and were replaced by Duff McKagan, and Tracii's childhood friends Slash and Steven Adler. Now you know and knowing is half the battle.
