Well this song isn't really about summer, but it has bikini clad women, hard working strippers, and a cat calling talk sequence.




8. Rockaway Beach by The Ramones

What better way to spend the summer than getting stoned on a beach? The Ramones couldn't think of a better way. However, the Ramones were vampires and couldn't go outside, so they wrote about it in song.




7. Hot Fun in the Summertime by Sly and the Family Stone

Sly and the Family Stone are just great fun. And what is Summer without a little funk anyway?



6. Miserlou - Dick Dale

King of the surf guitar created this awesome instrumental. Video is from the 60's and it contains awesome ladies swinging. Safe for work swinging.



5. Summertime by Dj Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince

Before he was Captain Steven Hiller from Independence Day, he was the Fresh Prince. His best friend and DJ was Jazzy Jeff. Together they created a Summertime anthem that still holds true in it's lyrics and groovy tone.



4. Boys of Summer by Don Henley

The song paints a sad picture of the summer coming to a close. The author reflects on the great times he had over the season and how sad he is to see it go.



3. Summertime Blues by Eddie Cochran/ The Who

I enjoy the Who version a bit better and that is why they are included here. However the original should be recognized. First video is Eddie Cochran's version and the second is the Who.

Yes, we know that the Beach Boys originally wrote the song, but they don't have the campy swagger of Diamond David Lee Roth. With David Lee Roth as our guide, we are taken on a journey of American discovery. We are searching for the hottest ladies in the nation. This video skyrocketed me into puberty because I wanted to swim back and forth between two lines of bikini clad women. That never happened because masturbation was easier than exercise.



1. Boys (Summertime Love) Sabrina Salerno

You may not have heard of Sabrina Salerno and that is fine. I am not even going to bother introducing her. To have beaten out the mighty Diamond Dave, you have to either have a great summer song or an awesome video. Well the song sucks. So here is the video.
