Rio Out for Live Earth
A Brazilian judge has canceled Saturday's Live Earth concert set to take place in Rio. The reasoning is there is not enough officers to guarantee crowd safety. (DUH!)Organizers were trying to overturn the order to prevent South America from being left out of the worldwide shitfest aimed at stopping a perceived problem.
The concert in Rio is the only concert that is free and the crowd is expected to reach 700,000. Rio police are already busy keeping Rio safe (because if you have ever been to Rio, you know how unsafe it is) for the July 13-29 Pan American games.
The concert was to include top notch performers Macy Gray, Pharrell Williams, and Lenny Kravitz. Live Earth is promoted by former Vice President Al Gore and it was supposed to take place on all seven continents. With the removal of South America and Antarctica containing only a small group of scientists who occasionally play the piccolo and skin flute, the concerts are crumbling in Al's hands.
However, his son Albert Gore III has a different approach to solving the global warming problem. Smoke 'em if you got 'em
