The Weather Channel has music
Have you ever watched the Weather Channel? I thought not. But if you did, you would have noticed they have light jazz playing six times per hour in the background. The music usually runs during the "Local on the 8s."
This fall, two packages of that background music will be available for purchase. They are called "The Weather Channel Presents: Best of Smooth Jazz" and "Best of Instrumental Classic Rock." This will mark the first time the Weather Channel has licensed anything but rain gear.
According to the article the music has long been a source of interest for viewers. "People have been writing in for years to ask where they can get the songs, says Shari Pace, VP of licensing and merchandising at the Weather Channel. She notes the network publishes monthly playlists on its website.
BnR obtained the first picture of the only man interested in a cd of Weather Channel background songs. When reached for comment he said, "Dwi Tollyo cha ki, ko map sum ne da" which loosely translated means "I listen to the smoothing sounds of the Weather Channel because it makes me feel more confident wearing this outfit."
