Billboard.com reports that a new album from The Cure will hit stores this fall. In anticipation of this album, the band will be touring North America. The album will be a follow-up to their 2004 disc which debuted at 7 on the Billboard Top 200.

My first memory of The Cure, and perhaps one of my first memories, occurred in 1990. Most of the kids in 4th grade were listening to New Kids on the Block. I went to public school until 5th grade, then catholic indoctrination began, so clothing choices were up to you (or your parents). Kristen Forrest, one of the more attractive ladies of the 4th grade, showed up wearing black eye liner and her hair styled similiar to Robert Smith. I asked her why she did that and she screamed, "You wouldn't understand! I love the Cure!" I had no idea what the Cure was but my response was "You should see the nurse. She makes me feel better when I am sad." After that day, I never saw Kristen again, which was a shame because she had awesome X-Men trading cards.
