Is Fred Durst capable of change?
Many of you fans have no idea that Fred Durst has directed a movie called "The Education of Charlie Banks." The movie is a "tense but thoughtful coming-of-age movie about a nervous preppie locked in a friendly but dangerous tug-of-war with a New York City tough [guy] at a college in upstate New York in the early 80's." Entertainment WeeklyCan the man who brought the world the abomination known as Limp Bizkit actually direct a serious movie? According to Entertainment Weekly it was the "best movie [they] saw at the Tribeca Film Festival." And in reading the article, it seems Fred has actually wised up. So perhaps there is hope for this project.
Entertainment Weekly asked Fred if he was interested in reforming the original members of Limp Bizkit and going back out on the road. He responded,
But there comes a time when you'd look silly doing it, with our type of music. And yeah, I can imagine there's a point where you're just singing along with words that you just don't mean anymore.
He clearly realizes that nu-metal is dead and the only people buying his cd's are Bob. Thanks Fred, for saving the rest of us from a nu-metal slopfest. Bob will eagerly await your return to the music industry. I, however, will check out this film and pray to Vishnu that it is actually good and makes you forget about the music industry as a whole.
