R. Kelly pens "Rise Up" suprisingly not about 12 yr olds
Robert Sylvester Kelly has written a new song. Unlike "Trapped in the Closet Parts 1-90" this song is about healing in the aftermath of the April 16th shootings at Virginia Tech. "Rise Up" will be available to digitally download starting May 15 with 100% of the proceeds going to the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund.
The song was written at the top of Mount Sinai on rock tablets as R. Kelly watched the events unfold. Here is a sampling of the poignant lyrics:
"Rise up, when you feel you can't go on, rise up, and all of your hope is gone, rise up, when you're weak and you can't be strong."
I hope those kids he had videos and pictures of also listen to this song. Then they will know to "Rise Up" and be strong even though a man has raped their childhood.
