Nickelback writes tribute to Dimebag? How natural.

When I think of the razor sharp guitar playing of Dimebag Darrell, several synapses fire off in my cranium like a lost badger stuck in the Korean Demilitarized Zone.  I think of Texas.  I think of ribeye steaks.  I think of "We're Taking over this Place" (by the way, that line doesn't work with the ladies).  What I don't think of is Chad Kroeger.  It seems that the king of crock rock wrote a song a few months after the shooting death of Dimebag Darrell.  The guitar riff is Dime-inspired.  There is also a guitar solo pieced together from several unpublished Dimebag demos.  In theory it is not inherently bad.

That is where the buck stops my friends.  Captain Canada has a habit of taking a shit idea, and making it shittier.  Not to say that a Dimebag Darrell tribute isn't a good idea, but when it's being done by Nickelback, well, we must take a stand.  The song has the same whiny Nickelback vocals, the same lack of subtlety, and the same overproduced, undercooked creative machine working for it.  For your viewing displeasure, here is a video from a live performance.  I warn you that some of what you are about to see may not be appropriate for anybody who isn't a 13 year old adolescent.
